We spent a very pleasant 3 night stay at Rose cottage in May 2025. We were very last minute with our booking but after emailing Christian with our request, he was very responsive and helpful in securing the booking. We were delighted upon arrival with both the location and the finish of the cottage which was beautifully clean and in very good order. Everything had been thought of, it’s one of the best equipped properties we’ve stayed in and was a pleasure to cook in the kitchen, with plenty of pans, utensils and crockery. The cottage is perfectly situated to explore coast or forest and we visited Otterburn and Kielder for forest walks and picnics. The village has a great pub, the Three Wheatheads with a varied menu and beautiful garden. It was nice to come back and relax in the comfortable living room. The bed was super comfy and early mornings we had bird song! We sat in the garden with coffee and admired the views and walked our dog along the river just a minute from the front door!

Christian was a great host, checking in on text to see we had everything we needed. The only negative was not staying long enough, it was a ‘home from home’ and we will definitely return!

We have enjoyed our stay ar Rose Cottage and were very blessed to have superb weather. Our granddaughter made the most of Alnwick Garden's water features!! Castles were built on Alnmouth sands and we just had to have fish & chips on the harbourside at the Fish Shack in Amble. Cragside is amazing and just up the road. The dog stopper is a great idea and one we're going to copy! The cottage provided for all our needs and we found it very comfortable - thank you!
